ART EMERGENCE

EXHIBITION OF THE 1ST EDITION OF ART EMERGENCE
Frac Île-de-France Reserves & Chaufferie of the Fondation Fiminco
September 18 – November 2, 2025
Opening on Thursday, September 18, from 6 PM to 10 PM
Art Emergence is a new event dedicated to emerging creation, initiated by Artagon, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the City of Paris, the Île-de-France Region, the Departmental Council of Seine-Saint-Denis, and with the support of numerous partners committed to the young art scene.
Presented simultaneously at the Frac Île-de-France Reserves and in the Chaufferie of the Fondation Fiminco, the exhibition of the inaugural edition of Art Emergence brings together the graduation projects of 42 artists and designers who graduated in 2024 from all the public art and design schools in France—one graduate per school.
Collectively curated by Salomé Fau, Alexis Hardy, and Temitayo Olalekan, and accompanied by a scenography designed by Studio Bigtime, the exhibition pursues a dual objective: showcasing each artist’s degree project and unique universe, while also offering a panorama of the aesthetic and political concerns that currently shape artistic creation emerging from art schools.
The artists and graduation projects presented were selected through a call for applications open to all 2024 master’s level graduates from schools that are members of ANdÉA (National Association of Art Schools). The selection was carried out by the three curators, with support from the Art Emergence artistic committee, composed of artists Dimitri Chamblas, Elizabeth Jaeger, Tarek Lakhrissi, Myriam Mihindou, and Josèfa Ntjam.
In addition to the exhibition at the Frac Île-de-France Reserves and the Fondation Fiminco’s Chaufferie, the 1st edition of Art Emergence includes two additional components:
-
A festival dedicated to live and performance arts, held on October 25 and 26 at Maison des Métallos in Paris.
-
A tour of around thirty collective studios in Paris and Seine-Saint-Denis, spread over three weekends.
The exhibition at the Fondation Fiminco:
-
Showcases the graduation projects of 42 artists from French art schools (Class of 2024).
-
Curated by Salomé Fau, Alexis Hardy, and Temitayo Olalekan.
-
Conceived as a true space of collective storytelling, it aims to bridge the gap between school and the professional art world.
