Odyssées urbaines
,

Almost all of them have come from different lands or universes and, after sharing their daily life or their workshop for months, the twelve Fondation Fiminco’s residents are going to meet for their last dialogue in the Chaufferie. An impressive and fascinating industrial space, the place develops over several floors, welcoming the interior or exterior peregrinations that have been nourished in each of them. At first, the artists arrived in the heart of this district of Romainville, that many had never visited, whose moving architecture, in permanent construction and deconstruction could be looked at as a living organism, full of perspectives, while taking on something carnivorous… Within the workshops, there was then a period of discoveries and encounters, of appropriation of an environment, of discussions on collective memories, which sometimes fill the uprootedness. As there will be at the end of this residency a kind of uprooting from what becomes close to you by the repetition of the routes, the observations, or the daily gestures. Odyssées urbaines retraces part of these journeys, in order to perceive how the individual was able to marry with the collective during almost a year, how a form of metamorphosis was generated, by taking place in a building also apprehended as a living being. From its foundations, the notions of depth and origins arise, from its level of reception, a factual reflection on a form of authority is born, until it rises towards more futuristic or experimental perspectives…
