About Yoel Pytowski
Yoel Pytowski (born 1986 in Rehovot, lives and works in Belgium). His practice questions, through site-specific installations, the designation of place as a central narrative element, evoking past or future events of construction, destruction and reconstruction.
He studied computer science in Buenos Aires, followed by a Bachelor of Engineering Sciences in France. In 2014, he obtained a master’s degree in Drawing at ENSAV La Cambre in Brussels followed by a master’s degree in Fine Arts in 2018 at Sint-Lukas in Brussels. He has been invited several times as a guest lecturer at the Catholic University of Louvain in Brussels and in Louvain-la-Neuve in the architecture department.
Recently, he has participated in several solo and group exhibitions in Belgium, France, Greece, the Netherlands and Portugal, . In 2018, he was selected as the 1st winner of the ArtContest prize in Brussels (BE). In 2021, he exhibited at Magma, the Triennale of Ottignies-Louvain-La-Neuve (BE). Recently, he presented the solo exhibition Façades, at Centre culturel de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (BE, 2020), The Stamp of the Difinitive is Avoided at Experimental Intermedia (BE, 2021) and One-Way Street, at Espace Moss (BE, 2019). In 2022, the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles|Paris accompanied Yoel Pytowski’s residency at Moly-Sabata, Sablons (FR). He also exhibited at La Sira, Asnières, in the group show Only One Step From Heaven. In 2023, he participated in Symbiosium, a group show organized by the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles|Paris, curated by Stéphanie Pécourt and Christopher Yggdre, and in September he will participate in a group show at the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles|Paris curated by Albert Baronian.
