About Sahar El Echi
Sahar El Echi (1992), lives and works in Tunis. Visual artist, filmmaker and researcher in film studies, she studied graphic design and communication at the Institut Supérieur des Beaux-arts de Tunis (ISBAT). She is a director of independent films (Mutation, Entre-deux, Correspondances and Manwella), as well as videos selected in several national and international festivals.
Her work examines the relationship between the individual and his environment. The objective is to make plastic, aesthetic and political reflections resonate.
Film programmer, she was a member of the selection committee of the Malmö Arab Film Festival (2022), and recently directed the 1st Carthage Critics’ Week of the Carthage Film Days JCC.
Sahar is a laureate of the CAORC /MELLON Fondation pour l’art moderne au Maghreb and has been selected in several programs: Documentary film methods at the Danish Film School (2019), Beirut Talents and Durban Talents…
