About Mauricio Limón
Mauricio Limón works with video, installation, painting and performance. Through this practices he approaches subjects related to public domain, informal economy, sexuality and power. He is a former alumni of the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam (The Netherlands). In 2010 he received the Annual Grant from The Pollock-Krasner Foundation in New York (USA) and in 2011 he received the Jóvenes creadores Grant (Mexico). His work has been shown in Mexico, US and Europe in: Rozenstraat 59, Amsterdam (2017, The Netherlands), Pinchuk Art Center, Kiev (2014, Ukraine), Galería Hilario Galguera (2017, 2014, 2008, Mexico), Museo Tamayo (2014, Mexico), Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil (2014, Mexico), KunstMuseum Bonn, (2013, Germany), San Francisco Art Institute (2010, USA), CA2M – Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo (2010, Madrid), Museo de Arte Reina Sofía (2005, Madrid). His work are included in the Frank Demaegd Collection, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (USA), Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporaneo (Mexico), Colección Cisneros (USA).
