Karen Keyrouz
Karen Keyrouz is a Lebanese artist based in Paris. She graduated from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA), where she published her first book, Flux et Reflux. Coming from the world of drawing and comics, she has developed a practice at the crossroads of writing, contemporary drawing, experimental visual storytelling, and drawn performance.
In 2024, she published her second book, Some Dances to Combat the Headache, with Beit Waraq in Beirut. She is an active member and co-editor of the Samandal collective, a publishing house dedicated to independent comics.
During her residency at the Fondation Fiminco, she wishes to further explore spatial narration. This revolves around a recurring motif in her artistic practice: ink stains, an organic and fluid visual form that becomes both narrative and thematic by influencing the ‘space’ in which it is inscribed. She seeks to develop this form into an immersive narrative environment, like an evolving comic strip.
