I Fang Lin
Originally from Taiwan, I-Fang Lin is a choreographer and performer who graduated from the National Taiwan University of Arts and the CNDC in Angers. She refines her choreographic style through collaborations with numerous artists, including Mathilde Monnier, Christian Rizzo, François Verret, Emmanuelle Huynh, Pierre Droulers, Philippe Katerine, Jocelyn Cottencin, Louis Sclavis, Wen-Chi Su, Kosei Yamamoto, Xavier Le Roy, Boris Charmatz, Fabrice Mazliah, and Olivia Grandville. A practitioner of the Feldenkrais method, she teaches and incorporates into her performances a physicality that unfolds with full awareness. The precision, acuity and organic nature of her performances highlight the true value of the body.
As part of her residency at the Fondation Fiminco, I-Fang Lin will continue her research project Nobody Knows My Name, which explores the merchandising of the female body through professions ranging from funeral strippers and professional mourners to betel sellers. Using choreographic and theatrical tools, the project elevates gestures that are both trivial and jubilant, transforming the intimate into theatrical material and the look into an act of deconstruction.
